Fostering is.... Everything. We recognise that fostering and caring for a child who is unable to live with their own family is a serious commitment. Therefore in Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster we offer a range of benefits to our foster carers.
These are just some of the benefits you will receive when becoming a foster carer for our service:
- a weekly fee of £237 and an allowance of up to £289 per week (depending on the age of the child)
- council tax grant
- birthday and religious festival allowances
- summer holiday activities allowance
- annual holiday grants to contribute towards the travel and accommodation costs for the child
- loyalty bonus payments in recognition of long service
- referral reward up to £750
- Blue Light card discounts (a range of discounts across restaurants, retail, travel and entertainment)
- your own supervising social worker who will visit you regularly to offer support, guidance and identify any training needs you may benefit from
- support groups and social events to enable you to share your experiences with other carers
